She begged him to let her leave her husband, but the boss didn't want her. In this photo, she doesn't know it yet but she's pregnant. It's her boss's baby, but she tells her husband it's his. He raises the girl and won't find out until she does a DNA ancestry thing when she's in her 20s. By then, the boss had dumped the mom who drank herself to death.
